Apricot is my favorite color. Crepuscule is one of my favorite climbers, color nonwithstanding. It grows fast, blooms all the time, no disease. Those frothy peach ice cream blooms are magnificent! I like peach/orange with hot pink - like the colors of Honeysweet, a mix of orange, apricot, pink. Lovely! I also adore Royal Sunset, just got my 2nd bush. I have Autumn Sunset and Westerland, but they are new plants, havent bloomed. My Buff Beauty, despite being 3 yrs. old, in full sun with regular watering has not bloomed alot. I am going to hit it with Mills Magic Rose Mix this year and be more timely with fertilizer. Have ordered Polka. A little know peach climber is Peach Silk from Heirloom. I raised mine from a tiny band - it blooms lots and I really like it. Judith

If I could get hold of it here in Europe, I would pair it with the dark purple Night Owl. I first saw this climber only days ago on one of the forums. I have this colour combination with the dark purple clematis Luther Burbank and the palest pale blue Snow Queen and think a lavender rose would be just as good with a dark purple rose.

I shouldn't chime in here as I plant roses only in places that get nearly full sun. But as a lover of Kordes roses I can't resist supporting your interest in Laguna. So few people on this forum are familiar with K's. I've heard good things about Laguna. Another K that I want to get is Summer Wine. Supposedly has a flower that charms all those that see it.

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned the antique (1876) Madame Alfred Carriere. Although classed as a noisette, it blooms like a tea. The flowers are double, and they have a wonderful, intense scent. The flowers droop downward on their stems, so as a climber you can see the blooms from below. It is THE climber of climbers, and can reach 30' in height against the wall of a house or along the wall of a fence. This is the sort of rose that defines an English Tudor cottage (and I think it took "Rose of the Year" in the UK several years ago--even though it is considered an antique rose and has been around forever.) It can take intense heat (though it will slow down in that kind of weather), and it grows very, very fast. You will see this rose along fences in the dryish, hot-summer wine country around Napa. I've had no trouble with viruses or fungus, even in intense heat and humidity places like San Antonio or Oklahoma City. As a climber it seems to do well just about everywhere except extremely cold places like Colorado and in the Northeast when exposed to the lake effect.
