St. John's Wort-leaves turning yellow

I have a St. John's Wort (Hypericum frondosum, 'Sunburst') that I planted two weeks ago. It was a great-looking plant, but I noticed this morning that some of the leaves have turned yellow and fallen off, and some of the other leaves are twisting.

It is in full sun which it likes. Is this a result of poor drainage? I have full clay soil that has compost added to it to improve drainage, but maybe I did not add enough.

We have gotten about 1-2 inches of rain since I planted it. I called the nursery and someone will hopefully be calling me back soon.

What do you think?
