I'd hate to say anything more specific without a bigger pic and without seeing the flowers opened.

the little flowers are open now but the problem is that i dont know how to post another pic to this message. is there a way to do it.

If your pic is on a photo hosting site, you can include the image in this discussion. If you are using the gardenweb upload facility, it's necessary to start a new discussion. Without seeing the pic, I can tell you that if the flowers aren't terra cotta/brick colored, it isn't 'autumn joy.'

Yes, it's one of the types like the commonly grown 'Herbstfreude'. At one point these were going to be split off into their own genus Hylotelephium.

thanks for the info. these never get a full head of the tiny flowers. whats in the pic about the most it gets at one time and the stems are always layed over. this is a very shadey area also maybe there trying to reach to he sun? i have taken a few cuttings and will move them to a more sunny area and maybe they will be more upright. also they probably need to be divided. where they come out of the ground it looks like a huge mound at ground level.
