Thanks, Chris. Did a 'Google' photo search and can confirm the names you suggested are correct for both plants #1 and #2. Still need help identifying plant #3. The fruit is translucent pink in color. Did a 'Google' photo search of Ardisia but no photo seems to match the smooth-edged leaf structure and the unique, round, pink-colored fruit. I was told this fruit is edible (haven't tried eating it though). The fruit is much smaller than a cherry and is about the size of a blueberry. tropical

Hi & welcome to Gardenweb. Great gift! Does the pot have a drain hole? I would probably move it to a removable pot that fits inside this pretty pot if it does not have a drain hole. Then when it's time to give it a drink, take it out so any excess water can drip away in a sink so it doesn't kill your pretty plant by staying in the bottom of the outer pot and rotting the roots. This would not be specific to Dief, but to any potted plant. If you have pets or children, you should keep this plant out of reach so it can't accidentally be ingested, or broken open by them to expose them to the sap/juices, which is a known irritant. If you get the sap on your hands, you would want to wash it off to make sure it doesn't get in your mouth, eyes, nose. (My SOP after handling any plant sap/juices, whether known irritants or not. Many house plants can cause various easily avoided irritations.) Just feeling the unbroken leaves, stems, (or roots) of this plant is considered harmless. It looks to me like a curry leaf. Scientific name Murraya koenigii. It's native to India and Sri Lanka...

I read this post further down (http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/weeds/msg041954384899.html?3) and the plant I pulled seems similar in a few ways. There is a purple-flowering vine over my neighbor's fence (in the back shady area in the most recent picture). I'll get a pic of those vines and try to have them ID'd and see if the suckers match the description. Thanks, floral_uk... it does appear to be a sucker based on the horizontal root. What threw me off was that it's so far out from anything that looks like it, and there was also a sizeable sucker in the crack between the wall of the house and the concrete.
