Does anyone know the absolute low temperature for guppies?

(Most articles on guppies have copy/paste temperature ranges like 72°F-85°F as "best" or some such.)

The spouse has a 500 gallon goldfish pond which also somehow has dozens of guppies. Last night the water temperature got to 49°F for a few hours and the guppies seem none the worse for it.

(I found where one researcher attempting to use guppies for mosquito control suggested the limitation on this was that guppies didn't do well below 52°F.) I cannot find anyplace where the absolute minimum temperature for survival of guppies is listed. Do you know of anyone who really knows?
