A red perennial poppy for zone 5?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a hardy, true red, Perennial poppy that would grow in zone 5?

I'm always disappointed when I buy oriental "Scarlet" poppy seeds. I've never understood why Oriental poppies are listed as scarlet - they always turn out to be bright orange when they start blooming. In my mind "Scarlet" leans much more toward red than orange.

I once tried papaver bracteatum (which seems to be red) but had bad luck the one year that I tried them. I would try them again, but I now see various pictures on the web that look orange....It makes me wonder if I would be experiencing the same Scarlet/Orange phenomenon once again.

Thanks again for any replies.

Regards,

Tim
