I found this too!. My car was parked beside a Pear tree (not Bradford but one of those varieties) and when I looked there were little orange spikes coming out of the fruit. My car was covered. Easy to dust off, then I started worrying that it would get in my nose and lungs so I sprayed it off. Came off very easily either way. I thought I had enough with the petals on the tree, and the fruit in the fall is so messy. This tree is invasive and destructive. LOL. and now these spores...One more reason to hate it.

Awww kylie, that's gonna suck, all that digging! All my plummies are still in pots above ground. Next year I should sink them! I have another inflo on Cerise and one on Graveyard Yellow (celadine). Kristi I read in some plummie book, that when the Hawiians had graveyards (back in the day-lol), they planted gobs of plumeria around the gravesites to help improve the smell. Alot of them were yellow and thus came the name of Graveyard yellow. I think it is the same one that is Celadine. Maybe your dh knows for sure? I am glad to see you posting again! I had a lot of trouble keeping buds on Naughty nick in all it probably dropped well over 70 buds all summer. They would grow big enough to start coming out of the calyx and then all drop off. Drove me nuts. I think it just likes the cooler nights now. Least now I know why its Naughty! I got that ginger rhizome from walmart grocery lol. I was told they treat them with something and it wouldn't sprout. It takes a long time but do sprout. Just get a nice firm tuber with a couple 'eyes' (nubbie sprout thingies) on it. I don't know what's wrong with photobucket lately, it is making me mad lol. I can't enlarge anything either. ibaroo I know about the dh eye rolling thing lol. I think mine just gave up by now lol. I can't let him buy me any plants cuz last time he got on ebay, he bought stuff we already have LOL!

Well, everything I've read says that citrus do not need much irrigation, that they prefer to be drier rather than wet. I do check the soil between waterings, and even though the top layer dries out, if you dig your fingers down a few inches, you still find some moisture. It's not real wet, but you can still feel some moisture, so I would think this would be ok for trees that prefer not to be too wet. I do fertilise the trees about 4 times a year, whenever the new growth flushes begin. I fertilise the lawns (Floritam) with scotts bonus s weed and feed, but I follow scotts directions and never apply closer than 15' to the dripline of the fruit trees. The thing that makes me not think it's a water issue is that the trees in the front yard are in the same type of soil and on the same irrigation schedule, and they are wonderfully green and healthy, and loaded with growing fruit. Sounds like Pinata to me-that's what immediately came to mind on reading your post. The link below contains some pictures of my pinata, showing bloom development/color changes as it ages. I happen to like Pinata a good deal, even though it is a slow grower, but I knew what I was buying when I purchased it-I'm sure it was quite a 'surprise' when yours started to bloom!
