What is the natural habit & size of Viburnum lentago? 12' - 20'

Hi,

What is the actual natural growth habit of Viburnum lentago (Sheepberry; Nannyberry)?

I intent to plant two together in a colony-like effect. I may want to plant two of them underneath a medium-size tree.

So, if planted as an understory tree in partial sun/partial shade, being planted 10' apart, how tall should it get? Should it form a clumpy colony at around 12' (rounded form: 12' wide and tall) each, or will it eventually get 20' high (and 12' wide)? I have a feeling only specimens grown in full-sun without competition from surrounding trees will grow 20' tall and only specimens grown with only one or two trunks will grow to the tree form height of 30'.

So, if I keep them 10' apart and allow them to sucker freely, I hope I can keep them naturally at around 10' to 14' high without pruning. I want to create a permaculture requiring no pruning.

Thanks,

Steve
