trelis design for Harison's Yellow

I have a Harison's Yellow that is growing in a clump in front of a picture window. It has no support and leans across the sidewalk and shades a good portion of the garden. I'm thinking of a trellis against the house to fan the canes across the front of the house below the window and hold the canes to the back of the garden. I have 2*6 board to work with and am thinking a simple cross piece about three feet off the ground would do. I'd like to leave the ends of the canes free to move.
Any thoughts or designs for a simple trellis?
PS. The sprawl wasn't a big problem until I cut out the old canes -- they were providing support for the young canes. Live and learn. :)
