It will be available through Ashdown Roses -- I heard from them this morning, finalizing the information.

Has anyone seen this book in person? I hate to pay that much and not at least look through the pages first. I'm funny that way.

Ronda One of my favourite rose books was recommended by Rosebud, a former forum enabler, I'm not sure of the name of the book, it's at home in Oz and overseas so this is guess work ....Landscaping with Roses and I think the author's last name is Cox ???? I like it because it has lots of ideas for how to use roses rather than just describing individual blooms and bushes. The Tea Rose book is very good, it has quite a lot of technical information for the identification of varieties and as Jon said tries to explain some of the common mis-identification of roses. The whole thing about the Duchess being called Countess something or other makes me want to sulk though!!

It's not a book reference, but Gregg Lowery had a great article, last year, I think, in a newsletter of one of the rose organizations - possibly, Cemetery Rose, or perhaps one of the others. Sorry I can't be more specific. But I remember it being very illuminating, especially for a newbie like myself. Perhaps one of the other people reading your post will remember it. Laura

I just ordered it from Amazon for $27 where the price has been reduced. It states it is a pre-order but that is the best price I've seen. No shipping if you choose the 3-5 day option.

A funny thing happened to me. A week or so ago I went on Ashdowns site after getting the e-mail and ordered right away. But upon checkout, the site somehow didn't like the 3 digit code on my credit card and kept telling me it wouldn't accept the order and call during normal business hours. Obviously frustrated, I blew it off. Guess what arrived today on my porch! What a great suprise. The first pic I saw when I opened the book was Mrs.BRCant and Madame Berkeley, two that I grow and are favorites. I am sure I qualify for a warm garden! Clint

Yes. There are 12 downloadable pages in pdf format. I've read them, and it looks as good as I expected it to.
My order is going in today.

I am SO happy to have this available at last I could just dance!

I tried to order but screwed something up. I'll try again later. It looks great. That picture of Mons Tiller is scaring me. Mine is about 5 inches high at this point, so I've got time.

I just checked at Barnes and Noble and the price is about $30. I may have to order it from them.

It's really a shame that they have this on their web site to pre order...and then don't honor their listed price. If they don't honor it I don't think I'll shop with them any more. Shouldn't list something they will not honor!

I am out of state on vacation, but am thankful I checked gardenweb this morning with my laptop. Just got off the phone placing my order for this book with Ashdown. I'm thrilled to be getting this book earlier than I had anticipated, and at a price slightly lower than expected, even with shipping added.
