Pictures Around The Pond And Bees -Enjoy-
Comments (8)Thanks for the nice comments. The yard has been a work in progress for about 5 years. We are finally 'happy' with it, and will focus on just keeping the plants looking good. The bee pictures were actually easier than I expected. I took about 60 images, tossed out about 50 of them and had 10 that were good. Thats a pretty good ratio, and my time commitment was about 10 minutes. We have lots and lots of bees in the flowers....See MoreNeed advice harvesting my honey and saving my bees. dallas tx
Comments (4)Konrad- Yes it is in a sheetrock void in the first floor ceiling of a two story garage that will be restored eventually(old historic house). Tear out is no problem. I am most interested in supporting bees in the inner city, but these are very numerous and just cover the passionvines, good for fruiting- but have way too many and Africanized Honey Bees are just 50 miles away. Is it possible to have a small hive for them raised 10 feet off ground? Just to support the bees in this manicured area of Dallas. Thank you so much for your reply.....Sandy...See MoreGetting rid of wasps in pond
Comments (1)Put out some bird feeders and try to attract some of the smaller birds. They will only get 25% or less of their diet from the feeders and they like to eat wasps and many other bugs. Not a perfect solution, but will surely help out and keep them on their toes....See MoreSilence of the Bees on PBS Sunday
Comments (1)I have to watch that..thanks Roselee. I don't know if the rest of you noticed anything odd in 05, but I remember lots of swarms of bees at my pond and at work. It was unusual behavior, seemed that there were hundreds of them in an area where a dozen would have been the norm. They were not agressive, though I wondered if the swarms had anything to do with the Africanized Bees (which were hot news in 05)....See Moregroundbeef1
