Apple Snail Eggs

Every morning before work I check my Savio skimmer to make sure no floating plants or fish end up in the skimmer basket. This morning, when I lifted the lid, a large egg mass was attached to the inside of the skimmer above the water line. Since I have never seen this type of egg mass before, I searched this forum and was directed to Robyn's Pond Egg Identification Page at: http://www.fishpondinfo.com/egg.htm

Sure enough, I had what Robyn identified as Apple Snail Eggs.

My question is this, the egg mass is above the water line where the water intake is for the external pump. Anything that drops into that water gets sucked into the pump impeller and usually it results in a "dirt nap" for the critter. I know when these things hatch they will be small but, can I move the egg mass to another location by the pond, such as on a rock or in a dry container without disturbing their development or should I just leave it alone and see if any survive?

Thanks,

-Mike
