Gorgeous! Your koi are very beautiful. Water looks awesome and clear.
Can I ask what the green plant is growing on the rocks behind the waterfall? It is very pretty there. And what are the plants on both sides of the falls, with the ?pink? blooms?

The green stuff behind the falls in moss that I transplanted to the rocks. The flowering plants on the sides of the falls are impatience that are bare root, tucked into the rocks where water is flowing over them.

Beautiful pond! I love the moss growing on the rocks-- wish it would grow better here in KS, but it doesn't seem to like the hot wind blasting it for some reason. :-)

Hardin, and the green above the waterfall are the water hyacinths. Clarke, beautiful picture of the WH flower! To my great surprise one of mine blooms since yesterday. In spite of the very cool and rainy summer, how late the pond water warmed up, and how few of them bloom any other year in our pond... I was going to get a picture today, but I'm having trouble downloading my pics, sooo... I'll use your picture and just say it's mine! Heehee!

I love the way you seem to have attached the rocks to the side of your skippy filter. I have just installed a skippy this summer beside my pre-fab pond. The pond has tumbeled stones stacked around the sides of it, but now I have this black thing towering over the side. And while I love what the skippy is doing for my water clarity, the bucket it's in does terrible things for the look of the pond. Incorporating your idea into mine would help tremendously, but don't have a clue as to how to begin attaching anything to the black round tub. Thanks for your photo inspiration!

Beautiful pond. I love how you've landscaped around the waterfall, especialy the moss on the rocks beneath it. I wish moss did better in my area -- too much hot sun and wind. You also have some nice koi, including some very interesting colors and patterns on your longfins.

I used mortar, construction adhesive, and black expandable foam to secure the rocks to 1x6 that were buried next to the sides of the Rubbermaid tank. I then back filled with dirt to provide a bit of insulation between the tank and the wood.

My youngest daughter has always loved the koi. She loves for them to suck on her fingers.

OH - thanks for the information! I hadn't thought of a frame of sorts to support the rock. I just couldn't imagine how I would make something adhere to the bucket and still look nice. This has opened up a whole world of possiblities. A simple posted photo can contain exactly what someone else is looking for. Thanks again for solving my dilema.

What a beautiful pond! Could you tell me how you made your falls?

The falls is a 70 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank. The liner runs up the face of the tank. the stones on the front were mortared together. The sides of the tank have 1x4s driven into the ground next to the tank. The stones are attached to the wood with construction adhesive. The space in between the rocks was filled with black expandable foam.
