Mirabilis Jalapa (Four O' Clocks) seedlings

I have some four o clocks that have been in the ground for a few years, they are doing fine. They seem to be growing slower than normal though, but I am watching them more than usual as well. I did accidentally break the main stem off thinking it was weeds, but it is still growing. It's also partly shade, but never had a problem with it coming back. Maybe I'm just watching it to closely this year. Also, we've had lots of rain the past two weeks and not much sun which may be the problem as well. Just slow growing this year, any ideas?

My main question is this, I planted several four o clock seeds ( a little late, 3 weeks ago ) but they too have also started sprouting with beautiful little green buds on them. I know this plant is a fast grower. What size can I expect to see a newly planted seed that's sprouting to get this year. Like, how big will the plant grow this first season.

Thanks so much.
