Eastern Hemlocks need babying?

I'm considering using 5 or 6 Eastern Hemlocks in the northwest corner of my zone 5 back yard. The spot has other evergreens and trees nearby.

Some people have mentioned using a burlap screen for winter protecting hemlocks and I'm realizing that I don't see too many of this beautiful evergreen. Is it fussy? Hard to grow? Troubled by insects and windburn?

The cultivar I'm considering is "sargentii" which has a weeping form and grows to 15 ft tall.

Any thoughts or advice? Thanks so much -

Elaine
