Nothing got damaged as far as I can tell. I just planted out some hardy hibiscus, pink and violet queen bee balm, artemesia, and coreopsis Full Moon. The hostas under the oak tree were pretty well shaded from any frost. It was a light frost. None of the wintersown plants have been hurt even after 3 weeks of nice warm weather. The plum tree and the Japanese Maple were covered so they seem to be fine too. 43 degrees here now and sunny. The wind is picking up again. I hope it blows this cold front way east and out to sea.

I'm catching up on this just now thanks to a good CF friend and her private message to me. Cathy, you know I am praying that Raymond behaves himself. He needs all these prayers! :-) Really, I'm thinking of you and Raymond and hoping all is well. What a scary incident! And please tell Ray to stop it! ;-)

The counter itself should have caulk between it and the wall, before the backsplash is installed. The only way to remedy that if it didn't happen is to remove the backsplash. Or, the last row of the backsplash. Then the small gap between the backsplash and counter should be filled with caulk. If the backsplash is tile, then the sanded caulk that matches the grout should be used. So, it sounds as though the right material was ordered and used. How big is the gap between the countertop and backsplash? If the gap is bigger than 1/8", you need some backer to stuff down in there before you caulk over the top to keep the water out. The caulk itself could be old, and have lost it's adhesion. I'd buy a new tube. And make sure that the caulk wasn't applied over grout. The other thing to check is are you sure that the liquid isn't coming from a faucet hole missing a gasket? Or from the rim of the sink itself? Some towels, and some colored water, together with another adult to selectively drip that colored water can help you to see exactly where that water is coming from.

A fine, fine haul, Sherry. I have Rainforest Sunrise and Sugar and Spice. RS hasn't been a good grower for me, I think I got a dud, because it's known to be a hosta that grows really well. Sugar and Spice has been great in my garden. Have fun!
