Comments (2)There was nothing to tell me scale of your "giant" plant so I really didn't have a clue as to how mature it might be. I say that because it still looks like a rather immature plant. I would suggest that it might be a red kale, brussel sprout, or cabbage plant. Hard to say when they are young and haven't come into their more distinctive mature shapes. Comments (8)Florida has at least five Lindernia species in the wild. L. ciliate has heavily toothed leaves. L. crustacea usually has a relatively solid bar or splotch across the center of the lower lip. L. monticola and L. dubia are mostly upright species. L. grandiflora seems most like your plant to me....See MoreHome made leaf support rings for small plants.
Comments (9)The reason why the paper plates work so well for me lies in the natural shape of the plate. When a paper plate is sitting flat on a table, the outside "ring" is elevated an inch or so above the flat part of the plate, depending on the design. This difference in height allows the ring part to be higher than the height of the cut out part. If I cut an inch off the outside of the plate (making a 5" plate out of a 6" plate" I eliminate the lions share of the "ring". Sounds petty, I know and I am sure that a 5" plate made out of a 6" plate works way better than what I have; which is nothing! If I continue to strike out in my search, I too will be cutting down some 6" ers....See MoreHelp with purple-and-green leaf plant ID
Comments (9)These also water root very easily, tho' it's best to do it w/ healthy material. But it couldn't hurt to try a few water rooted cuttings from those longer lengths. Personally I'd cut it back pretty drastically, toss the worse growth & water root the rest for new sections to restart it under better conditions. Take off the bottom pair of leaves so there's an inch or 2 of bare stem in the water. Use cuttings maybe 3" long....See Moremfaye84
