Oh, the heck with it--get all three. No one should be tortured with having to pick which one is the best. They all are!!!!!!

I SPed CPM because of lack of rebloom. I am in San Jose area. In addition, it gets huge and tall which I did not have room for it.
I do not have the others but eyeing LEH for a shadier place for next year.

I'll throw in my 2 cents worth on these also. Lady Emma Hamilton, as previously mentioned, has a good color, nice fragrance, and does not get overly large. It does tend to sprawl sideways. It doesn't have lots of flowers all at once here, but it does have a fairly steady trickle. I wouldn't mind having several of these, space permitting. My Lady of Shalott is on its second year. It bloomed fairly well up until late summer/early fall, and then it quit. It did not have any later in fall flowers. It is now quite busy blooming its head off with flowers that are similar in color to Pat Austin, but they are less sensitive to the heat. I think this rose will also get quite large given the opportunity. It is a nice one. My Munstead Wood is currently blooming with dark, wine-red flowers that exude a powerful fragrance. The bush will throw some long canes, but mine have been flopping over sideways almost to the ground. Whether that is indicative of anything I can't say, but it will need some corrective pruning. We have had a very mild winter this past year, and everything is blooming about a month early. The result is more intense colors because the sun is not as intense as it would normally be. So, Munstead, along with many of the rest of the plants in my garden blooming now, has extra dark color. It is similar the The Prince at the moment. Of these two, I like Munstead Wood better because it doesn't burn as badly in high heat as The Prince does. Repeat bloom is quite good and reliable here. Port Sunlight is another story. This year it seems to be doing better. I think it is its at least 3d year. The flowers are a little larger now, maybe about 3 inches. The color is a good apricot color, and there is some fragrance. I like the color, but I would have thought the flowers would have been larger judging from the pictures of it that were on DA's website when it was shown at the Chelsea Flower Show when it was being introduced. For me, it has been not much bigger than a mini-flora rose up until now. The plant has not gotten very large either considering how large it was getting in the pot it was in before I stuck it in the ground. Finally, The Shepherdess is a nice, pale apricot rose also. I am hoping that it will survive its transplanting back to a pot for a while until the bed area it was in gets redone and the city gets done with its project there also. The Shepherdess is pretty, and it seems to have a restrained growth habit, at least in comparison to some of the others. I hope my comments are helpful.

agility_mom - You are one of the ones I wanna chat with :) I love Austins, I love the bloom form, the colors, the way they open etc... What I don't love though is the arching bush shape, so I'm so pleased that he is trying to give me my blooms on more compact plants... It's very hard looking at pictures of just the bloom to know which ones to choose without ordering 20 bareroots and just waiting to see who turns out to be a winner... For example, one of my favorites was Tamora... love the color, love the compact bush. Didn't care about the fragrance, and with only 70 petals, I wouldn't mind a bit extra... and I was crying inside to let her go from my no spray garden with her little black polka-dots... So Tamora is listed as an apricot blend. Personally I thought it was more of an orange pink blend, especially compared with some of his other apricots, but he doesn't use the orange-pink color designation, so it makes it hard to know exactly which of his new roses are closest in color to Tamora. So according to DA, the newer apricots are: William Morris Crown Princess Margareta Grace Carding Mill Tea Clipper The Shepherdess So 6 to choose from... The Shepherdess is supposed to be the shortest of these, but who knows? and which of these is more pink than yellow? So the question of which of these apricots (or other Austins that are orange pink and called pink blend) is most like the original Tamora is impossible for someone who hasn't seen all of the new specimens to know... I'm going to start individual threads about the different colors, but my question for you is out of the newer Austins, which are the most compact growers... and which are you falling in love with? They are hard to come by on fortuniana. Only K&M carries them and Cool Roses in Palm Beach has a few, but they recently said they were going to stop carrying them because of high royalties or something. I was so bummed because I got most of mine from them. K&M is really pricey when you add shipping to it. But it's worth the extra $$$ because on fortuniana they can last for years and years. The longest I've ever been able to keep any rose on Dr. H alive is 3 years. My Darcy Bussel was doing well until now. I have ONE Austin still going strong (on Doc) after ordering from them 3 years ago and that one is Wollerton Old Hall and its showing no signs of slowing down. I think growing them in large pots works well, even if you only get 3 years out of them that's still a lot of blooms. My oldest Austin on fortuniana is Evelyn and she's easily 9 feet tall. She grows like a climber bare legged till about 8 feet and then all leaves and buds on top. It's not the most attractive habit, but she pumps out the looms like crazy so no complaints here. :) With the exception of Dick Clark and Easy Does It, all of my Austin's out perform my HTs I'll be trying some own root from now on however (if I can't get them on Fortuniana) because I think some own roots actually do better for me. Just not sure about putting them in the ground.

I only grow Lady Emma Hamilton (English Musk). She does well in my partial shade, alkaline wet clay soil. I did extensive research on the other Crown P. Margareta and Teasing Georgia for my partial shade spot.

Crown P. M. - someone in SF reported it does well in bad soil. Another person reported it bloomed in 2 hours of sun, so I suspect it's a water-hog if it does well in partial shade. I give plants from my garden to my sister in CA (dry heat, sand) and she said they never bloom for her, despite their being invasive in my rainy zone 5a. Folks in warm zone reported CPM not much scent, while folks in cold zone reported fruity scent.

Teasing Georgia - I took it off my rose order when I realize it's a thorny monster. Reportedly nice tea with myrrh scent. Ingrid grew that in the past.

Hoovb in California wrote a post about Lady Emma Hamilton, big fragrant bloom, good repeat & disease resistant, low in thorns. Lots of people like Lady E. Hamilton. I like her perfect size, red stem, and shiny foliage. I like her scent more than Jude the Obscure.

Definitely Crown Pricess Marg out of the three - although Teasing Georgia has the most perfect flowers. As others have said, CPM is a hungry and thirsty rose, but all the big ones are. My two are babies in the first pic but you can see the flowers. Never had much problem with disease but then I'm 30 miles away from David Austin so what does well for him does for me. The second pic is one I wook at their gardens in summer last year.

Caldonbeck, those photos are beautiful. Love the petals on top of the boxwood hedge - so evocative.

I have CPM and TG both. TG is an established huge shrub - it's magnificent. CPM is about 22 months old - it'll be 2 in April. It's beautiful too. Both bloom about the same for me. I think CPM is more fragrant of the two. Mine is in a terrible spot: half the year in the sun, half the year in the shade of a building - in bad soil. It's impervious to these things. I think TG would be too. I think they're both great roses. LEH is new, I just put the bare root bushes in about a 2 weeks ago. I saw it in my friend Hoovb's garden and "had to have it". It will be a much smaller plant than the other two. It is also much, much more fragrant. It's fragrance is so powerful that it affects your sense of taste as well, at the back of your mouth, as you sniff it. I can hardly wait 'til ours bloom!

Caldenbeck, your photos of CPM really hooked me. But I was still mourning over Teasing Georgia. Despite the fragrance of LEH, the look didn't grab me. So, onto David Austin's site I went only to find "Offer C" - with both CPM and Teasing Georgia. Then Dublinbay's words resounding in the back of my head. So - Offer C it is with Princess Alexandra of Kent and Young Lycidas added.

I grew Teasing Georgia in Virginia and I found it only moderately thorny and I have a "THING" about thorns/prickles. Agree the bloom is perfection and I found it quite healthy with no spray. (Maybe a tad prejudiced as it is one of my 3 "desert island" roses, the other two being Darlow's Enigma and the other Blossomtime.) Don't grow the other two and agree those pictures are GORGEOUS!

I think you have ordered all of my favourite austins all in one go lol - put Princess alexandra out of the strong sun so her flowers last. Young lycidas builds up over time - more like a branching srub so go easy on the pruning with that one, she just needs a light hair cut every year.
