The usual way to raise humidity for outside plants is to try to create a humid "microclimate" around the plants by grouping them together and keeping the soil very wet with standing water in the tray system under the plants. I have heard of elaborate solutions such as misting systems (which can be made pretty easily with a suspended soaker hose) above plants and of course the ultimate solution is the greenhouse. In an outside bog garden, maybe try to make a low part with a standing water "pond" in it to group plants around.

thanks jakvis for the info. since my granite has not been installed yet- last evening i disassembled my cupboard from the wall that is beside my range, went out and purchased an infrared point and shoot thermometer -- the temp on the exterior sides ranged from 145 degrees to 240 degrees farenheit which is way hot. i can not imagine that being good for the custom painted cabinetry installed beside the range- the temperature on the outside of the wood cabinetry was extremely hot also- the inside of the cabinet was ok, however towards the exterior of the front side of the range was the highest heat and that's where the custom drawer-fronts are. i even had heatshields applied to the cabinetry but they are pretty useless since they are just 1 inch metal strips that also got extremely hot. ugh, i'm hoping someone knows of a way to rectify this problem. thanks again for all the help.

In my experience, everything elastic does OK on "warm"...by which I mean 100F or so. When I want something white really dazzling, I'll select Duet's "whitest whites" setting which boosts to 127F. However, 127 begins to take a toll on elastic with repeated washings. I've seen this in my underwear and the corners of my bottom fitted sheets. You'll see it beginning after your first experience. Strongly suspect "sanitary" cycle which boosts to 155F would hurry the deterioration but haven't done it repeatedly so don't know.

I live in Florida and NOT the panhandle. It's horrendously hot here too. I keep ALL my plants outside 24/7 (under a roofed and screened lanai). My Sans generally do fine. I have lost Sans to overwatering or not planting in a mix with enough drainage, but I don't think I've ever lost one because of the heat. Mine seem to do better with warm temperatures, no over-watering and a general slight sense of neglect. I just don't give them direct sun -- bright shaded Florida light seems to be more than enough.
