Shalinimunjal, I doubt you'd find it in local nurseries... I've got two plants (from two different online shops) and they seem to be doing ok. Seems like they're both a bit stunned, since I don't see new leave growing as fast as my Jasmines. My zone is still fluctuating to low 60s in temperature so I keep them inside for now at a south-east window. Can't wait for them to start blooming. I pretty much forgot how it smelled except remembering that I went crazy for it at the time. The entire Dasheen outdoor dining area at Ladera was filled with the fragrance waifing through the night air. I would've gone back to Ladera just to smell the flowers again, except now I've got them at home thanks to this forum!

Depending on your climate they will grow and flower all year. But they also self seed and will spread to wherever seeds might be washed to by rain.

Streptocarpus is Cape primrose, referring to the nativity of several species to South Africa and their superficial resemblance to the genus Primula.

Thanks! We have not seen red berries but this is the first year it flowered. We had a burning bush growing there that died so it was cut down. This then started growing and we thought it was the burning bush coming back but it never turned red and was just green. Then it grew taller than the old bush and this year had the white flowers. I just looked up choke cherry trees and they sucker! Bummed because we have a plum tree that does that and it is a huge pain. My husband roasted our largest rose bush trying to use the flame thrower on the plum suckers so we had to cut it back to the ground this year. I will look more closely at the others in the neighborhood to see if I see evidence of suckering. For this, so far I haven't seen it, but then this is the first year it flowered so maybe it wasn't mature enough.
