Denise, I am leaning in that direction too. The peduncle (which I mistakenly called an umbel---a new-to-hoya error) is what has me confused. They are quite large. Unfortunately, I did not see what was attached to those peduncles. The more I search the web, is the more info I find that IDs this as a dischidia. The closest I came to finding a lacunosa that looks like it was Hoya lacunosa 'Langkawi Island', but that has larger leaves and is speckled. So, at this point, the vote leans towards Dischida sp. Time (and blooms) will tell. :) Thanks T

Both plants and fruit look exactly like my Bhuts, except there is only one per site and they look a little pale to me. Bhuts are usually darker and would not waste a good fruiting site with just one flower, they are very prolific. Yours are probably a closely related species in the Chinese family. I have never had any experience with the others you mentioned, but. I have noticed that there is considerable confusion about weather the Bhut, Naga, and several other names (I've forgotten) are the same plants or not. According to The University of New Mexico Pepper Research Center, they are all the same plant. I would not however take that to be gospel, because I have found incongruities between several universities including UNM (Proper not Pepper Center). Most of these were concerning identifying pests. Could you please list all the names, especially the Chinese strains, it may help with identification. All my best, Pic-Z
