Pruning Grandmother's Hat and Betty Prior

I didn't think I'd have to address this issue with Grandmother's Hat yet because it's such a young rose, a year and a half old at most. However, it's about five feet tall, although fairly narrow, and my question is whether I should leave it alone or trim it down somewhat. It has all its leaves, but has not bloomed since summer.

Betty Prior was bought at HD as a five-gallon plant and is in a spot where she gets only a few hours of morning sun. (I know, I know, but I had no other spot for it and wanted a rose in front of the dining room window.) She's rather spindly, with thin canes. To prune or not to prune, and how much?

Thank you for any advice.

Ingrid
