Pump technology - grrrrr...

Who'da thunk it? I bought a sequence pump (5000seq22) over the winter (thinking that was the time for the best deal) and was (am) pretty happy with it. Today, double checking my calcs on max flow, i notice that the model i bought is discontinued and the new model with that number has a higher flow rate (4700 gph vs. 4600) for less power (290 watts vs. 333) for the same money ($269). I feel like 1975 all over when i paid $300 for a TI Calculator that did trig. *sigh*

On the plus side... I finished running the main plumbing and got the friction loss down to about 4' so i should see the max flow rate of 4600 gph (Yea Me!).

With the plumbing to the falls done, i can finish off the stone wall and upper reservoir and be ready to test it. Whoohooo! It actually seems like i see a light in the tunnel!

Here's some pics from last fall to give you some idea of the size/shape of this project.

The pond is basicallly done. All i have left is the upper reservior and leveling the stream outlets (3). Then i have to finish pointing all the stone work, seal it all, add the filter box and then i can fill 'er and plug her in! I may be done by the end of June!
