Floating pond scum

We have a natural small pond about 1,500 gallons and is about 17 feet by 40 feet near but not in a stream bed. This has become quite a lovely little ecosystem, but the past two years it has been experiencing a severe green algae problem. This type of algae makes big woolly mats which cover the entire surface of the pond with streamers that reach to the bottom. If we actually get in and scrape it off the pond, more floats up from the bottom and covers the surface within a few days. The bottom of the pond is not full of debris and we have pond plants growing in it (with algae attaching) as well as grass around the pond.

We have tried some commercial algae remover and water cleanser, at quantities that were appropriate for our size pond, that is not supposed to hurt the small mosquito fish, frogs, wogs and small black snails, but it had no affect at all. We have also drained the pond and let the algae dry up, but it returns with the water. This is an autonomous pond with no stream running in and out of it - we continuously fill it from the well with a spayer. The water evaporates and also soaks into the ground as there is no pond liner.

We bought a floating solar fountain to see if the pond needs more oxygen, but so far it has no affect. We tried Healthy Ponds Enzyme Packets, but they did nothing. Is any commercial pond remover helpful like UltraClear SST or AlgeaPak that works and will not kill the wildlife?

I read the other postings about scum, but they did not seem to apply to my pond as it was a very different pond environment.

Any help would be appreciated.
