Yeah.. the plant growing with it is an Artillery plant or fern. There seems to be few different varieties... Pilea microphylla and P. trianthemoides... Or on some sites it's P. microphylla var. trianthemoides and then P. serpyllifolia. It does grow like a weed, but then, what is a weed but a plant that is not wanted. They do sell them in pots in some garden centers. They also grow like weeds around Florida. I have left some to grow into large plants and they are kinda nice. They're called Artillery plants because their seeds "explode" out from the plant... shooting in all directions. They do like it moist, so you may have your burros tail (sounds a bit nicer than donkey tail but not as nice as "string of jade" ;-) a bit too wet. Now that it's established, it may survive reduced waterings.

Bruce I always let succulent cuttings to callus; it doesn't have to be for very long - some just for few hours and some 'juicier' ones bit longer. Again, I am not sure if the leaves will grow any roots - never tried that with aloes since they (the ones I have...) usually pup quite a bit. Here is one of the branches:Potted up - deep enough that it stayed in the mix: The mix is very gritty, and I didn't water it for a while, so there was no chance of rotting. I often use larger rocks to support new cuttings.
