Here's a Receipe for Soil Mix for Plants

For anyone who has heavy black soil like mine I found this receipe on a Canadian pond site. It is supposed to help with stinky soil.

Mix 50% 3m or 5m clean playground sand or sandblasting sand with 25% unscented pure claybased nonclumping kitting litter and 25% well rotted peat moss (suggested from a landscaping company). Make sure peat moss is heavy wet. If dry pour boiling water over the peat moss and soak peat moss for 2 days before mixing with sand and kitty litter.

I am going to try this mix with some of my water lilies and sweet flag that needs repotting--both soil really stinks.
