Mounted orchids

I have quite a lot of small growing orchids, Bulbophyllums,Angraecoids, Dendrobes etc.,mounted on tree fern slabs and cork bark, thickness varies between 3/4 to 1.1/2 inches. They now need to be moved on to larger surfaces but they cannot be removed from their existing mounts without serious damage to roots and plants. I need to find a material that I can fix the existing mounts to. I cannot get larger pieces of tree fern or cork bark and was wondering whether anybody out there has had any experience of growing orchids on coconut matting. It certainly comes in suitable thicknesses and could make an attractive and durable mount. Peter
