How long for orchid buds to open?

I recently brought 4 orchids. They all have flowers that are opened fully, but some of the buds have not opened.

How long does it take them to get to full size and once they are at full size how long until they open all the way up?

Some razorback talk. How much is a pig in a poke? There is no answer. There are 30,000 to 40,000 natural species and quadzillon hybrids. If you had the full name then maybe there is an answer.

Where in Arkansas are you. I lived in Eureka Springs a while back...

HI there:
Depends on your choice of orchids. There are so many genus and many hybrids, and you don't say exactly what you have.
Perhaps you have Phalaenopsis? -so you can look forward to a few weeks of sequential openings and full blooms
But - I urge people to slow down and enjoy each stage of the bloom from tiny bud to full blossom. Really - should you rush this experience by ? - the faster it goes by, the sooner you are without the joy of the blooms. It's perhaps the 'zen' of orchid growing.

I read through some of the other posts but I still haven't found any information on whether or not it is ok to replant while it is flowering. So far I have moved it into the bedroom where I leave the shades open all day so it gets lots of light. Since the first buds fell no others have started to shrivel up, so I guess it was just a blast from the cold in my apartment, but it seems to have settled in now. I am still concerned about the pot though, since it has no hole in the bottom. Can anybody tell me if I can replant it now, or if that will destroy the flowers currently in bloom?

Thanks you guys. I guess I'm just impatient.The one bloom is so big, it just seems like it should be open. I don't really have a better place to put it. The bay window seems to let in enough light, or at least as much as my Southern windows. My cat would knock it out of the other windows. I also like looking at it when I'm in my recliner, resting. Next year, it will go up the mountain to the Dragonroost! I've been so preoccupied with other things, moving, hurricanes, etc., that I haven't had much time or energy to garden this year. Next year will be WONDERFUL!!!!

I have never grown this indoors, and these article has some tips, if you haven't seen it already. https://hort.purdue.edu/ext/gardeniachallenge.html I would probably not attempt it indoors unless I had a sunroom or a large South facing window. They like humidity too. Have you thought about putting it outside on a patio in summertime? My mother has these around her house (of course she's in the Deep South with 1000% humidity in August) and they do very well as outdoor shrubs. Will let the experts weigh in.

I live in jacksonville Arkansas.

It is a phal orchid.
All 4 of them are different colors.
