Question about Skippy's Filter

Mike Larkin

Was out to the web site. The filter looks easier enough to build and I assume that it works well.

I am thinking about using the smaller version, that is round rather than the RubberMaid tank. I have a smaller pond and do not have a way to hide a 75gal tank. My question is, Is it possible to place some type of covering over the top of the filter? I want to sink the round plastic container in the ground about 1ft and then possibly cover the top. Then I could hide everthing with rocks . Would that hurt the operation of the filter?

Also what would you use as a skimmer for a filter like this. Right now I have a Supreme Pondmaster 1200 pump with a home made prefilter using a plant basket and some filter material, and it works OK but usually is a little difficult to clean easily. Any suggestions. Mike
