The cleanliness of your plants is triggering my OCD. I love it!! So shiny and pristine! I didn't know you can soak/wet the plants when you clean out the roots for repotting! What's the protocol for this? Wash, then dry for how many days before potting? I usually clean out the roots as best I can (obviously not perfectly) and repot to my gritty mix straight. Now I'm wondering if I should have rinsed them all off to get super clean roots.

dhaven---you are so nice to respond with such thorough information. Unfortunately, I have no idea where or when the plant came from. It's on the north side of my house and until recently in a rather jungle like area that my neighbor's really did not care about cutting back. So I think strangely enough that it may be before I bought the house some 30 years ago. I live in Milwaukee Wi. I have a couple of hostas on that side of the house that I don't remember planting. This one of them. When I began my venture into gardening, about 24 years ago, my focus was always on the other 3 sides of the house which didn't look like a jungle. The plant was very near an old hydrangea bush which may be original to this 1935 house.

It's Ricinus communis, Castor Oil Plant. Those first two leaves are what the seed starts with but you can see the next pair are different and will become what the mature leaves will look like. In SE Qld they'll be a weed. I think they also a weed around Sydney. Colder climates they don't get so out of control. They'll grow to a few metres height, flower and seed prolifically, and the seeds germinate readily.

Sorry, # 3 is not a Jade tree, Rachel is correct, it's a variegated Portulacaria afra (unrelated to Jade). Last an Aloe maybe called Walmsey. The #2 plant is tropical, requiring high humidity, quite different than the last 2 which are succulents.
