Bird pepper or Tepin (I'm leaning toward Tepin, I grow them). They grow vertically, plant is covered with them. They start green then turn Deep red. Quite hot. Some thai peppers are similar, but the peppers are longer.

Sorry to disappoint you Mario. Not rare at all in the UK. Often used in municipal bedding schemes as dot plants and, yes, it should flower. Don't know where you live but now you are aware of it I bet you will start to see it in parks, especially those which pride themselves on their flowerbeds. But take heed of the toxicity warnings. Patris, I've kind of had a theory that a stressed brom will put out an inflorescence as a way of continuing on the species,when it feels its end is near. Its happened that when I've given up on a poorly growing,mealy bugged,or damaged brom,and tossed it on the compost pile,it later put out a bloom spike.Not a robust healthy one,but sort of a last resort effort. But who knows for sure ? (an irony,that some plants pulled up out of the garden plots for poor performance,do very well when tossed on the compost pile) Your guttata's boyfriend could be any one with red hair, (brachts). Putting the Ae.blanch. outdoors in bright light will help the offset to develop,and maybe give you some colorful leaves,and eventually a large,dense infl. Bob

You are quiet welcome. Till I read the FAQ I didn't know thorns, cane colour, etc were helpful - thought it was just the bloom. So I included everything I could think of cuz I really wanted it identified. My hubby has a better memory than I don and he reminded me that the wrapper said it was a snow white or white snow and I was disappointed when it came up red. But now that it has more blooms, I love it. Kind of like expecting a boy and getting a girl, yo love em anyway.
