Here is the Phals

In theory, you could grow these orchids in the one set of growing conditions, say with annual range of temperatures of 60 to 90F with the variable being the potting mix.
Have a look at the leaves of Little Stars, they tell experienced orchid growers that the parents of Little Stars are adapted to withstand some dryness (and high light) at some stage during the annual growth cycle.
Same thing with the Phalaenopsis, most are killed by people thinking tropical, so they are killed with kindness by overwatering despite having those succulent leaves that store water.
Sorry, haven't a clue on how to grow something in zone 6B, But I can tell you that it is currently 18C and 57% humidity where i have the Phals inside and they are doing fine in a treated pine bark + perlite mix . No misting and the plants are getting filtered sunlight on sunny days. Watered twice a week, it is what passes for winter here.
The little Stars relations are outside in various enclosures where the Caspar Milk Toast Phals would die because night temps drop to around 50F or below. Potted in similar mixture to the Phals and tightly potted or in the case of one Little Stars parent on a mount.

Neither plant should be in gritty mix. It will rot the roots. If I'm not mistaken, Reptibark is small bark. I would recommend a larger bark for the Little Stars (medium size) with some perlite mixed in. You could use charcoal and bark. The point is these roots want air flow, so you don't want anything which is suffocating.

The Phal could go in the Reptibark with some sphag and perlite mixed in. Because you are in 6B and have indoor heat, the sphag will hold a bit more moisture around the roots.

I grew orchids in NY for many years before moving to Florida. Phals did well with the mix I recommended. The problem I ran into was indoor temps during winter. What your watering and try to let both plants get almost dry before watering again.

I would put Little Stars outside under a tree and gradually move it to higher light until you can give it full sun in the mornings and some dappled sun in the afternoon.

Phal could go outside under a tree but should get the type of light ArthurM mentions. Dappled light. Watch for too much rain and the plants remaining too wet for a long period.

Both should do fine in your growing zone. I flowered both without any major problems.

Thanks for the very informative replies. I spent last night went through some old posts on this forum. And knew I did a couple things wrong already. I repotted them into a larger pot. I tried to bury the green root into the potting mix and broke the root. And I also read about another post asked about the same gritty mix question. I saw the pic of his/her repibark, I think my bark is much larger than his/hers. I attach a pic of the barks and perlite, What do you think, can I repot both of them in this barks and perlite?

In my opinion, the bark might be too small for the Brassavola. You can use it but you need to be careful with your watering. Look for larger Perlite to give you more air spaces.

The bark will be fine for the Phal. Mix some perlite and sphag into it. The sphag holds some moisture to make it through the dry winter.

I just got two as well. and I got a orchid potting soil mix. it worked great when I repotted them it. it says It works with all orchids. and on orchid food you can use used teabags and the orchids love it I hope I helped even a little.
