"I can better care for it." MilaSan - Alchemilla is a very tough plant and it is looking in perfect health in your photo. It doesn't need any other special treatment or care. I think there is a risk that some of these plants will actually be hurt by over attention. They all look very happy as they are apart from a few weeds in the beds. BTW it has Lily of the Valley growing through it as well, as I'm sure you know.

I don't like dredging things up, but I have a couple questions. This Aptenia cordifolia will spread readily in the same environment as Carpobrotus edulis, so why do they allow it to be planted at all in Cornwall? I was watching Gardening World and they showed all the damage that it's done at the Lizard, and saw them pulling out hottentot figs in huge sheets. Why would you want to allow it's very similar close relative to ramble its merry way right down to the cliffs? Oh,and just wondering if anyone has tasted hottentot figs or the jam made from them?

That's surprising, you put a loquat seed in commercial potting soil you bought and you get a sedge come up. I thought commercial potting soils were sterilised. Obviously that one wasn't. You might have to let it grow up before you can ID it. Most sedges like lots of water. Post some more photos towards the end of the growing season.
