It seems like to me that it is recieving too much sun it can take as Phals should be placed at a nothern or eastern windows and the phal is trying to tell you that it is going to the max it can take anything over you'll kill it. Also if you just repotted it, can you tell us what kind of medium you have your phal in?

Green thumb is mostly correct. I would amend though to say its getting "a lot" of light, not necessarily too much. Purple is the phal equivalent of a suntan (NOT burn, to be clear). It's produced in response to high light. It's not really considered a bad thing. I grow/grew a number of phals that did this. Since it is freshly repotted you might be well served to back off the light a little for now. But as it gets established, you'd be ok to return it to this amount of light. Newly repotted plants tend to be temporarily more sensitive to light intensity. It settles down after a couple months.

Were it me though,as long as its not burning (turning black/tan), and the ONLY issue is the purple, I wouldn't worry about it. It's been a week now; if it hasn't burned by now it most likely wont.

For clarity, however, what do you mean the "tip of the stock has gone soft"?

Thanks I really appreciate the help from both of you! I have moved it to another window where it is not getting as much light and the leaves have started to turn bright green again and the purple is fading.

The tip of the stock where the new blooms come out was going purple and a little soft, but since I moved it, it has hardened up and a new bloom is starting.

The re-potting I got done was just taking it out of it's plastic case that I bought it in and put it into a small pot with a wood chip/soil mix. It was not a drastic size change in the pot. This orchid was being contained to stay a mini but it is not a true mini so I am trying to grow it to a larger orchid.
