Phal. equestris - how long do they last?

Hi all!

I finally got my greedy little hands on an equestris a few months ago, and it was even in bloom. Kind of half-snapped the spike while transporting it home, but it's no biggie, since I'm all for the challenge of getting things to rebloom. Nonetheless, the thing kept blooming and putting out new buds...but the individual blooms only last a week, which seems kind of short for a phal. I'm thinking low humidity is the culprit...any ideas? I cut the spike off (I know..they're sequential bloomers..but it was looking ratty) but I'm curious to know how long these typically last! Thanks!

PS - for those of you in the southern Ontario area, Schreibers orchids is having a species phal sale as well as an open house the last weekend of June...I'm hoping to get myself a cochlearis :) (btw I'm in no way affiliated with them)
