Yeah, maybe they've changed, or maybe knowledgeable people don't order from them so the wool stays over customers eyes longer. I want to hear from a customer who bought a wide range of varieties from them and found them to consistently be true to name and at least 1/2 inch caliber at time of purchase. When I started my nursery business I ordered things from them I could not find elsewhere and it was terrible how often I didn't get what I ordered but had to wait 6 years to find out. I've dealt with many, many nurseries and none has approached their carelessness. I only wish those mislabled trees had died! So maybe they've become a better nursery in the last several years, who knows? Let's hear from some others who have had enough time to know if the trees they ordered came true to name. I admit that my experience with Miller is ancient history by now. But do they still claim that their clones are somehow hardier than those from other nurseries?

DO NOT BUY FROM FLORIDA HILL NURSERY. I ordered 10 blackberry plants from them, 8 of which arrived virtually dead. Their refund policy on their website says, and I quote "Sometimes plants don’t survive and we here at Florida Hill Nursery understand that. If within a 30-day time period from the point of delivery your plants don’t survive use our contact form to get in touch with us*.For a full refund return the plants to the address listed below. Once the plants have been shipped back to us simply use our contact form to send us the delivery confirmation. Return the plants to:FHN Refund Department P.O. Box 530318 Debary, FL 32753* " I tried contacting them multiple timess via their contact page, email, and phone. They are completely unresponsive. A very bad experience, and loss of about $70.00.

Never, NEVER order from Aloha Orchid Nursery. The Better Business Bureau says "this company has an unsatisfactory record. . . . Company failed to respond to the BBB to resolve or address the complaint issues. . . . Unpursuable - The company cannot be located or is out of business." Yet they're still selling stuff. My sister sent me "4 Blooming Dendrobium Orchid Plants" for my birthday. When I received them, they weren't blooming, and in fact two appeared to be dying. I called and spoke to Mahehalani. First she told me that there was absolutely no guarantee for orchid plants, even if they're already dying when they're mailed and further damaged by lousy packing. I told her the plants clearly weren't "blooming," and she claimed "budding" was the same thing. Realizing I was going nowhere fast, I pointed her to the "Tropical Flower Guarantee" on their website (http://www.alohaorchid.com/flower_guarantee.aspx) stating "We offer 100% unconditional guarantee on all of our tropical flowers." She claimed that this doesn't apply to orchids -- which are clearly tropical flowers -- and in fact ONLY applies to anthuriums, WHICH THEY NO LONGER SELL. Apparently, then, the guarantee doesn't apply to ANYTHING they sell. I emailed the sales department and they confirmed what Mahehalani said: that I was stuck with ugly, dying plants. I disagree. I don't think he has any right to get angry because the price was lowered after he bought. Why be angry? Happens all the time, every day of the week. Fact is, the proper response would have been to ask for the lower price instead of doing a huge investigation into the companies pricing practices, which by the way is confidential. ANyways, ketkin, I certainly do repsect your point of view. I see things slightly differently though. No biggy. But it was an interesting thread. Chittown sounds like a pretty good guy and he did admit that he might have done a better in wording his inquires. Oh well, have a banana of a day! Cheers.
