Is there a website that list all the orchid species names?

I have a plant named rhytionanthos gilvam. I think it used to be called a bulbophyllum. I want to find some information on this plant and have tried the usual search engines. I need to know if I am spelling it correctly. Could someone please help me? Thanks for any help.

There is some way to access the Kew gardens monocot database. Alas, I don't know it but someone here probably does. Failing that, Jay's site is probably your best bet. With all the renaming and new discoveries, nothing will ever be truly complete of course.

Thank you for responding Mrbreeze. I couldn't find anything on Jay's site. Maybe someday I will figure this puzzle out. There must be a misspelling somewhere in the name.

I just had a gardening disaster when a neighbor cut down one of his trees and some large limbs off of a tree of mine turning a once shady side of my yard into full sun. I have four phaius tankerville's planted there. Not sure if they'll survive or not. If they appear to be going downhill, I'll consider trading them. I agree with ginnibug, diversity in leaves is what really makes the plants attractive since most of the year they don't have flowers. I have one of the miniatures where the entire plant is no more than an inch-and-a-half tall. Variety is Seiryujishi. But my problem is that although the plants grow very well here in north Florida, the hot summers tend to prevent it from blooming except just occasionally; my Neo falcata plants can go years between blooms.

My turn to source for example photos has, more and more, become Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/groups/orchidspecies/ Many of the photos used on Jay's site are from there anyway. Frequently, collection details and/or growing conditions are provided with the astounding photography! Last time I checked, there were 148,529 uploads tagged with orchid. Orchid species has 7,851 photos, alone, that doesn't include all the other orchid photo groups. Many of them include a high resolution photo option, which always gets high points from me! Hi, Ebby. I see why you want to know more about it-- the colors are exceptional. And the texture silky-shiny, which I always love. I checked OrchidWiz and the RHS, couldn't find anything. That's where it usually ends for me. However, my Wiz is not up to this minute. Sometimes breeders don't register something right away. I think there's a fee, and it can add up to big money if you're breeding lots of different things. So they wait, put it off (like we do sometimes with expenses). Thank you audmer for the link to Kew. I have found my plant listed under bulbophyllum and the spelling of the name was right. This really helps and now I know that my plant has an identity. :)
