another pet pic, overflow anyone?

i just had to post frost since i don't have many of her. romeo just always jumps in front of my camera :)

here she is trying to thaw out. anytime she hears the heat kick on, she heads to the register under the table. doens't she look cozy?

mostly, playing with my zoom. i don't know why so many of them came out blurry. i actually got the camera for some action shots of her and romeo. of course, out came the camera and into sleep mode they went!

Cool photo! Er warm I guess... Looks like a Sueellen Ross watercolor. She's one of my favorite artists. 'Course I have to settle for prints:)

Frost is so snuggly, FTM! I just want to kiss her soft little head! There's something so peaceful about cats when they sleep. And even when they're cleaning themselves. MmmMMM!

Wow, Sarah, those are beautiful works of art! They look like photos. Bella is my favorite. Oh, but Wisp in the Willow on the prints page is precious, too! I can see why you love her work. :)

Oh, the last one just loaded, Subtle Hint!!! LOL That embodies pugs to the max.

calliope - when we last had our wills rewritten I went in with plans for a Trust to pay for our dog's care - but the lawyer had never prepared such a document. I did contact another lawyer I knew (with a major firm) and he told me the cost of such a Trust would be exhorbitant and when it came down to it, under Canadian law, pets are chattels and that is what it would come down to - and the Trust might well be challenged. Even if we had a Trust paying out funds to the person who took our dog, it would not guarantee the quality of life that we would want for our dog - think of the horror stories we read/hear of all the time. This is why we went with Plans A and B people - with Plan A person definitely in a position not to be challenged by any family member for control of the funds - or our dog. There is a group in Canada trying to have our laws changed re pets. I think that in some states - maybe California is one - you can leave your estate to a pet "retirement home' - a fancy one - and your dog will receive lifetime care. And also that maybe if you leave funds to a person to care for your dog that said person must take the dog and treat him/her well. We have an American Eskimo and Eskies do not do well in a kennel type of environment. And they sure aren't dogs that are suited to living outdoors despite their name. Changing the breed's name to American Eskimo from Spitz during WWI was not the best choice - it implies a sled dog - in fact they have a double coat of hair - much like Persian cats - and love to be warm in the house. Now there is a Canadian Eskimo dog - a totally different type of dog - lives in the very far north.

Sealavender - congrats on your new little bird! He is a cutie! I have three of these little guys and they are so endearing. If you dont have much time to spend with him, you might consider another budgie so he has a pal. These guys travel in large flocks and really crave the company of other parakeets. My first parakeet (Pip) was found outside by a friend. Eventually, I bought him a buddie (Sky) and the difference in his personality was amazing! It as clear he was craving a friend. Since budgies are very active animals, I bought them a double flight cage. They use every inch of that cage. Pip passed away recently, after 8 years. I found Petuniae on craigslist, living in a very tiny cage and with a smoker to keep Sky company. Petuniae is a boy, but because of his mutation he looks like a girl. Luke was found flying around town (I named him after Luke Skywalker as he was flying the galaxy). Luke wasnt in great condition, but boy is he a cheeky little fella now. Since the topic is animals, in such a conversation, not all dentists are for humans. There are veterinary dentists and it's reasonable to expect one or more has developed a special interest in nutrition. In such a hypothetical case, the "sponsor" of such a site would be someone who went to vet school whose professional education and training could be the foundation for assessing pet food. That's why I made mention of it. For the last time, let's think about the bogus information on this site. Content produced by people without proper professional training. Without rigorous test procedures. This website: - does not perform chemical assays of the food they "test" - does not perform studies of the food they "test" - does not do double-blind studies comparing a given food with another, or with a "placebo" - does not compare content analyses on labels to accepted professional nutritional standards for animal requirements - does not employ people with professionally specialized training. Those who produce the content know diddly- squat about the subject matter. Know nothing about what animal nutritional requirements are. They read labels. Period. That's not testing, not comparing, not subjectively assessing. Not providing expert opinions. It's zippity do dah. Nothing. So, of what value is anything on there? Zero, I say. A big zero. How is the content produced? From unqualified people copying over product label information, and from reader comments. That's it. Sarah - you like watercolors you might like this one. I bought this watercolor from a local artist named Karen Oakley as it reminded me of my Mommy-Ola and Purr-C snuggling when Purr-C (aka Pixie) was a baby. I had it framed. It is a fairly large painting which hangs over my piano in the dining room.

I liked the artist link you posted! Nice soft colors! FTMs photo does look like a watercolor and Frost would make an excellent model for a painting!

Oh, that's nice CT!

Sueellen has done tons of wildlife, birds, etc, too. But lots of dogs and cats in the past 5 years. Her sister Pat is a good family friend so I have a few of Sueellen's originals from earlier years and now I keep searching for more. Here's another link.

Frost is such a beautiful kitty, and so appropriately named! That picture does make me want to get nose-to-nose with her.

CT, that is a beautiful watercolor.

I would love to get back to drawing but it is very time consuming and mine would look like folk art compared to the artists posted here!

Jeanner, there is nothing wrong with folk art. Grandma Moses was pretty good. I suspect there are a lot of people out there who could manage to be pretty good if they only tried. A young aquaintance asked if I could give her art lessons. Her great grandfather had been a mural painter in Europe but she had never even had a lesson in school. I admit I almost gave up a couple of times. It was not because of her, it was my difficulty in telling her how to think and see like an artist. We met at least once a week for two years. She was always trying to take on new projects and skip the boring work of practice. She wasn't sure about muscle memory. I am so proud of her. She is going to graduate soon with a degree in graphic arts.

sarah, of course you may. we would be honored. frost thrives on undivided attention! :) what am i saying? she absolutely demands it.

when she was a kitten/ young adult, her stripes were much less visible. she has the ticking on her fur like any other tabby pattern. but, with the color/ varying shades of creme, white, ivory, tan her fur just shimmered in the light. her full and formal name is sunspot's cyclone's crystal (he was a big boy and she just crystal-sized compared to her papa, nicknamed snowman. crystal of frost was too long to fit with all the other stuff)
