Horse Manure in Vegetable Gardens

gloriajc

With all of the talk about the dangers of salmonella from fresh tomatoes, I am beginning to worry about my produce. I tilled in a load of horse manure about a week before I planted corn, tomatoes and zucchini. I don't know how old the manure was. I got it from a local farmer. It had no odor and was relatively dry, but not dusty. Is there a danger from using manure just before planting?
