Hi Lainey, Thanks for your reply. I didnt think it was an asparagus fern because of the large "nest of tubers" underneath the plant. What are they? When I repot, do I cover them with soil? ie should they be below the soil line? Thanks, -d

When the berries turn a dark red color, peel off the outer skin and plant them in a small, or shallow pot, in no time should have some Asparagus babies. Billy Rae

Looks like Asparagus fern - not a fern at all (which explains why it can have berries - true ferns don't make berries). Asparagus densiflorus is the original name.

The vine that Charlee is referring to is called Cypress Vine. It is an annual vine and may reseed (It does in some area). THey are very easy to grow from seed and the hummers really do enjoy them. It is in the morning glory family. The flower is about the size of a nickle at the widest part. THey will need a tall trellis, arbor or a fence to climb on. Mine do very well in morning sun and afternoon shade and visa versa.
