Apple foliage is alternate. Are there any malus that are opposite? I make a living pulling weeds - a lot of them are lonicera. It sure looks like lonicera.

its invasive in some areas .. not really for me in z5 ... it will collapse a foo foo trellis .. it can be cut to the ground every spring.. there is absolutely no reason to do anything 'careful' with this plant ... cut it to the ground.. mark the spot for spring..and EASIL"Y train it up whatever .. one plant covers a fence for 15 lateral feet for me ... top to bottom ... 4 feet tall ... do the research.. and kill it.. if it is invasive in your area ... a call to you county extension office will probably get you a fast and succinct answer ... ken

Might also be the Creeping (or spreading) Dayflower, Commelina diffusa. You really won't have to figure out how to take care of this plant...it's considered a noxious weed where ever it grows.

Jazzygardener, I don't have anything that's that large yet. I have Joe Pye, but they only will get about 6ft tall. I was going to divide them, as I'm also trying to fill in along my fence. We have a very small pine tree. If it were other things, I could help you, but all my things are new, and very small right now. I hope someone here can help you out.
