Looking for help identifying perennial

A friend asked me to identify this plant. I live in Ohio, and it doesn't look like anything from around here. It reminds me of a begonia stem, but the leaf looks more like an alocasia that I have seen before. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like Dutchman's Pipe, actually. Aristolochia macrophylla (was A. durior) is native to east TN, from the Cumberland Plateau through the Unaka Mts. A. tomentosa is found scattered throughout the state with a concentration in middle TN. The latter plant has leaves maybe 5 inches across at the widest part of the heart shape, and smaller flowers which can be hard to spot. Both are host plants for the lovely Pipevine Swallowtail, whose strikiing black and orange caterpillars can do a real pruning job on a young vine. I've never seen them eat one to death, though, and the butterflies are gorgeous.

Thank you all for the help! I'm going to keep the mystery dicentra/spectabilis where it is and see what it does... It's smaller and more "open leafed" than a different dicentra that I put in last fall which still look more like shoots... I'll post more pictures as it grows! :-). The galium will be moved somewhere else- I might be ok with a bit of spreading somewhere else, but not in this little area that I'm trying to make have a more organized structure and planting plan....

Foliage doesn't appear to be for a Hardy Hibiscus "Lord Baltimore." Maybe, as Jay suggested, one of the Hibiscus aculeatus? There are thousands of Malvaceae to choose from. :-) Of course, the post originated two years ago so hopefully the OP has an ID by now. :-)

If you can tell us what you sowed we might be able to spot some seedlings for you. At the moment the only thing I see which may not be a weed is the furry leaved plant (possible Stachys, Lychnis or Verbascum). I don't see any Cardamine hirsuta. The vine could be a starving watermelon but they are outside my experience and there are various weedy vines with similar leaves, I believe.

I am sorry to say that after looking at pics of Japanese knotweed emerging, I must concur with Saltcedar. Pokeweed is bad enough, JK is worse.

Thanks so much for the fast response. My friend just moved into this house, so this is the first time she has seen the perennial plants sprouting. I will pass the info on to her.

A large-growing, nuisance knotweed for sure. Whether or not Japanese knotweed I would like to see more developed leaves before deciding - Bohemian knotweed is often what plants called "Japanese knotweed" really are.
