Haven't had one of these in a while. Anyone wanna share what they have blooming?

Blooming:
Potinara (BLC Miami Gold 'mendenhall' x SLC Final Touch 'Golden Fleece') -beautiful rich red with yellow throat

Encyclia cochleata

Miniature nobile dendrobium (pocket lover x sikka pink balsy) - lavender and white. Lovely fragrance.

Bud:
Psychosis hybrid
Noidpastel phal akin to phal summer beach

It sounds like you have a lovely bouquet going...

I have several Phals reblooming, and rebudding, including
Yu Ping Panda "White Leopard", Doritaenopsis Green Field Zuu #3, and a shell-pink NOID gift.
I also have an Oncidium Twinkle Red reblooming and a Paph. in early bud.

My latest acquisitions were Oncidium Heaven Scent "Redolence" (Lovely fragrance), a Miltonidium Ruffles and a couple of pretty NOID Phals, one a Mini.

My main love is still Butterfly Gardening but the orchids really catch my eye in the bleak Winter months.

Is that a tree or rock behind the flowers? If it's a tree, I suspect that even if the flowers are on the south side, the plants aren't getting enough nutrition and are competing with the tree roots. The cleome doesn't look as tall as I think it should be. Mine is maybe 3 feet tall (but I bought 6-packs). Also, how is the fertility in the flower bed? I get taller plants where I add composted horse manure (from a horse owner). When I transplant, I also add liquid fish fertilizer to avoid transplant shock. When I start seed indoors I use a light table (hanging fluorescent light close to pots) that is on about 12 hours a day. Did your seedlings get enough light? Were they stocky and healthy when you planted out or wispy?

Hi, Tom! I grew R. splendens one year and wasn't thrilled with the scent when I finally caught a whiff. http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussions/1912844/rondeletia-splendens-finally-caught-a-whiff I was delighted to find a lone Jasminum sambac 'Belle of India' bloom amongst the jungle that is my bedroom. Apparently it's getting enough light to bloom and to continue to grow! It's a great treat to be reminded of summer when we're about to be blasted with single digit temps at night.

The Rosa 'Sombreuil' I bought as a bare root plant years ago from Home Depot is blooming again. The plant itself looks terrible with most of the leaves gone from black spot but it still manages to produce beautiful tea scented roses even though they are not perfect. While plant shopping at a local nursery I came across an unusual jasmine for Tulsa (most of the jasmines I see are either Jasminum sambac or Jasminum polyanthum). It's labeled Jasminum officinale but I'm suspecting it's grandiflorum (which I used to have but got rid of). Anyway it has a musky sweet scent and since I'm a sucker for jasmines I couldn't resist. My bedroom is going to look like a jungle this winter!

Is anything blooming at the Portland International Rose Garden now?

90 miles south of PDX, things are later than usual, so I don’t expect to see first blooms for at least 4 weeks. I expect the PDX garden is in a similar state. When last I was at the rose garden, the OGRs were barely represented at all, and most all of them were conspicuously virused with a particularly nasty variant of Mosaic. The Portland International Test Garden is exactly that: a public trial garden, whose agenda is to present an ever-changing snapshot of the newest hopefuls the industry churns out. The Owen Rose Garden in Eugene, OR (approx 130 miles south of PDX) has a much more diverse collection and OGRs are well represented there. Still, that garden won’t be in bloom till mid-to-late May.

DL Misoguchi 'Snowflake'
a mini cat by Hausermann that has 'Eric' in the name
and a species Den I bought at the last show.
Not too bad, and I have four deciduous dendrobiums all filling out their buds right now.

We've had a very weird winter here, with record cold and mostly gray days. But still have a few blooming:

Bletilla striata
Dendrobium anceps
Encyclia osmantha (has a huge bud)
Jumellea confusa
Paph Hsinying Alien (Supersuk x Raisin Pie)
Phalaenopsis NOID (white w/ red lip)
Phalaenopsis NOID (buds look like a purple mini flower)
Restrepia dodsonii

I can't resist looking at the clearance table at Lowe's for drastically marked-down Phals (usually untagged). I take them home, give them some R&R so they will bloom again, and then give them to my local society for the raffle table.

My favorute haunts for Phals lately is Hy-Vee and Copps Groceries when they first come in. They're usually untagged, but attractive nonetheless, and the care is all the same.

Hi terp! Hope you have been doing okay. Had some health problems and wasn't on the computer very much. Now back to orchid growing! Have managed to get hooked on Neofinetia falcatas., lol.
