Should it stay or should it go?

Graceful small tree/shrub found growing in a wild area abutting a suburb. Trunk reminded me of a multi-stemmed Vitex agnus-castus (Chaste Tree). Leaves are opposite, and the stem and leaves are covered in tomentum. What I'm assuming are flowers arise from the axils of the leaves, these are in groups of 4 and are covered in fine fuzz. Found in Zone 8b, bottomland, in an area dominated by Hophornbeam(Ostrya virginiana) and Musclewood( Carpinus caroliniana).

Hoping it's desirable, but suspecting it's not... What do you think?
