Name That Plant!

I moved to the Brevard, NC area last September and now I have all kinds of interesting flowers, trees and plants popping up all over my yard. This one, in particular, is the only one of its kind and is growing in a shady area of the yard. I love the green color of the flowers and the structure of the petals. I want to say it's Pipsissewa, but probably not.

Euphorbia, though I don't recognize the species.

Here that would be E amygdaloides of which there are various cultivars as well as the native species. Don't know if E amygdaloides var. robbiae is grown in the US.

Yup, agreed on the ID. You could probably take cuttings a few nodes long & pot them back into mother plant's pot, to make it look even more full & lush.

Sarcococca would not survive zone 5/6 or if it did, would never recover good foliage by September, unless protected. There are precious few cultivars of Prunus laurocerasus that can survive zone 5/6 like 'Otto Luyken.' Certainly it's not 'Mount Vernon.' Many of the larger-leaved laurocersus do not even do well here in zone 7 East Coast. So given its hardiness, and the fact that 'Otto Luyken' is the most available and commonly grown evergreen Prunus shrub in the Mid-Atlantic, it's extremely likely this is 'Otto Luyken'.

That may be our native E. commutata (Wood Spurge), which is common from western Arkansas to the east coast.

Thank you all. I brought a photo to the Master Gardener clinic and it is, indeed, Euphorbia, aka Wood Spurge.

It's Miner's Lettuce

It isn't Miners Lettuce. It's very clearly a Euphorbia. Look at the flowers again - they are quite different. Not mention the leaves. Euphorbias have milky white sap which can be irritant, so eating this would not be a good idea. If you are into foraging you need to be really clear on ids.
