If you could post a photo that would help. You can go the clematis on the web and look at their photo's to see if you can recognize it. Go to their picture search and enter the colors. Do you know what pruning group it is? Is it blooming on the old wood(2) or new wood(3)? If you can enter the pruning group that helps to narrow it down. Back from the north. I expected it to be a bear of a trip, but it was pretty easy. Relatively little traffic-guess everyone else was headed to the water. Love seeing all your thoughts! This was a fun way to do trivia for a change. Very funny about eating liver, Bobbie. I can only eat it as foie gras, liverwurst, or pate. Otherwise, forget it. I also heard that phrase as a kid and remember thinking, "oh yes it will...just watch." Ha. I do believe TM and Bobbie have it. Not sure about Nancy. Both she and Laura will have it when they read the last few clues, I suspect, especially when they add my first paragraph here to the flash of white comments! Cynthia

Well at 70ft. with S&S being the more obvious, how about 'Elegans' (maybe) and 'August Moon' and maybe even a 'Frances Williams' behind 'Elegans' but I'm really ONLY GUESSING on that one since I cannot detect a margin! At 20 ft., still not real sure because I cannot detect any margins on the yellow one, but it's habit reminds me of my 'Jewel of the Nile' or 'Rascal' and maybe it's 'Halcyon' to the left???? And, behind the last one, could that be 'Yellow River' or 'American Halo'?? I'm thinking I'm probably doing really badly, but I love a challenge--so how about 'Sagae' or 'Regal Splendor' left of whatever I think may be YR or AH? Okay the other 20 ft. pic--could it be 'Night Before Christmas' on the far left? Another 'Sagae' toward the middle? And, that beauty to the far right isn't 'Gypsy Rose' but I love it whatever it is!! Can't wait to find out about that one! I think it must qualify for your standard of at least 20ft-50ft rule! I've got to run and finish painting but I'll be back for more fun! BTW--those are HUGE daylilies (?) in your second pic. and I LOVE your garden beds, Linda!! So glad to finally get to see more of your stuff! You've done very well, as I always suspected you have by other pics.! You know your hosta too well, not to have been at this for more than 5 years--like me, who's still a newbie by comparison to most of you! Oh--and a very good thread topic!! I think you will make the point very well with this one! :o)
