I'm not a great fan of Cesar Millan's methods but I saw this in the paper on Sunday and immediately tore it out and am going to keep it. The whole piece was so right on. It's a wonderful tribute to our canine friends and certainly the right approach to life. Live in the present moment because it's all you really have and Millan expressed it beautifully. Thanks Mary

It's a wonderful quote....and boy does it sum up a dog's eye view on life. And yes, we could learn something from them.

True enough. Amazing how the Almanac's continue their popularity. We have one here in Maryland known as the "Hagerstown Almanac" that is a must for many gardeners. Steve in Baltimore County.

It is a great quote. Some whine "It's a dog's life" but they got it all wrong, we all need to learn a little more about living a dog's life.

Thank you, Mary. How thoughtful of you do put this quote up.

It's a wonderful quote and so true. I don't think Scoop ever had a day she didn't like :) Or a meal she turned her nose up at, a trip in the car she didn't think was heaven. Never met a stick she didn't think was the perfect for retrieving and never met a body of water she thought was less than perfect for plunging into for a good swim.

If it was possible to ask Scoop what she thought the best thing about life? She would answer "all of it."

I know about dogs living in the moment, and so much in the moment that my dog has a hard time distinguishing my being gone for hours & just going to the mailbox. The greeting when I enter the house is just as frantic with joy either way.
