Plant a mini orchard in fall, winter or early spring to enjoy fresh-off-the-tree fruit the following year
Full StoryHello,
I'm working for a client in the Willamette Valley of the Pacific Northwest who has a Fuyu Persimmon tree with a graft union that is buried 3" deep, it was planted 14 months ago, and the tree is currently about 7' tall.
Anyone have advice on how best to work with this tree?
I am wondering wether it would still be safe to dig the tree up and re-plant it OR dig a (?') wide 3 1/2" deep basin around the tree.
Both of these methods have disadvantages. Drowning the tree with a trench, or disturbing the newly settled in roots by pulling it up.
Any ideas?
thanks,
warren
