Any Goldmine Nectarine growers out there? I did my homework on it regarding low chill hours (400-ish), ripening schedule (August-ish), and rootstock (Citation). The tree is vigorous and healthy, and still very young. I'm willing to be patient even though I had a number of extremely split fruit. They were tasty, but required a fair amount of carving around the splits. None of my other trees have this problem -- in fact I've never seen a tomato or any other fruit or vegetable split to this degree. Is this a common occurrence for this variety? Any experiences, good or bad, with Goldmine would be welcomed.
