Repairing construction damage to lawn

I just had a new deck built off the side/back of my house. The contractors were very careful with regards to the lawn and landscape, but there was no way to avoid the pallets of decking material and tarps loaded with debris surrounding the work site for around a week to 10 days. Needless to say, now that the job is complete and the materials removed, the lawn beneath is trampled, yellowed, and looking pretty sad. Aside from crying :-) is there anything I can do (fertilizer, etc) to assist with the 'repair' of this lawn? It was in good shape prior to the construction - if I just let nature take its course, will it recover (eventually) on its own?
